Base Dingle is not only a stylish and comfortable location while in Dingle, Ireland, it has also hosted some fun events.
This year, Base hosted a new event on International Women’s Day, Saturday the 8th of March. This event titled Mnásome was created to celebrate both our language and women (Mná being the Irish for Women). Women from a multitude of successful businesses in and surrounding Dingle, including Nell from Anam Nutrition, Magda – Dingle Sushi, Clíona – Éalú chocolate, and Grace Alice O’Shea relationship coach, held space to share their stories and inspire. This free event, which was also fundraising for Adapt Womens Refuge Tralee, allowed for meaningful conversations, not only about women’s struggles, but also their successes. Máire Ní Churraoin, a Native Irish Speaker, singer, social media influencer, and presenter was also on hand and shared her story of being raised through Irish and her love of the language. Máire was able to share her story and inspire all the women in the room with her success at such a young age. Sharing these stories allows for a stronger connection between women not only in Dingle, but everywhere, as events like these strengthen and build the next generation of women forging a path in their dream careers. This event also offered fun prizes, coffee and treats, creating a fun night. Thank you to each and everyone who attended this event.
Another successful event was a Grow Remote Ireland collaboration with Base Dingle. This event took place during Dingle Literary Festival back in November and we welcomed guest speaker Easky Britton who shared her connection to the environment. We also connected with each other to share tips and insights into the world of remote and hybrid working. This event also allowed for an open and comfortable environment for people to share their experiences, the good and the bad, of working remotely. The positive result of these events only shows the environment Base fosters and can create for events like these and its guests. Base gives a space for people to share their stories and struggles openly and educate others. I only look forward to hearing about the other events Base will be hosting in the upcoming months and years!
